Q. Do I have to pay Value Added Tax on gaming?
A. No. All gambling operations and services are exempt from VAT without credit. This means that one cannot reclaim VAT on products and services purchased
in Malta.
Q. Do I have to live in Malta to be a key official?
A. A key official must be resident in Malta. A resident is defined by the Income Tax Act as a person who has stayed in Malta for more than 181 days. However, it is possible to
appoint a key official as a function rather than a position. Bell Med offers this service to i-gaming operators.
Q Can I get a Master License or does Bell
Med have a Master license?
The Maltese Remote Gaming Regulations does not have the option for a master license as in other jurisdictions. Instead an operator may opt for a class 4 license which allows him to operate
a platform over which other operators can offer their service.

Q. Co Location Space ?
A.Our present facility is large enough to accommodate
realistic expansion, Space is allocated by racks or by rack
space. All servers in co-location are placed in a centralised.
Your co-located equipment will not be spread over several
spaces, floors or buildings. On expansion your co location
equipement is placed in spaces adjacent to the original
housing.
Q.Physical Environment ?
A.Temperature control is achieved through a climate
control system for all Co Location areas. Two back up generators
are in place in case of power failure. Fire and security
alarms, CCTV and access control systems cover the entire
premises. We provide International
Internet connectivity through the Malta’s two Internet
Exchange points: Datastream Ltd and Vodafone Malta plc.
Q. I have set-up already. Can I use it and still be
licensed from Malta?
A. A licensed operator must have the control system in Malta. The control system is made up of the equipment and software that provide the control functions. Generally it is
understood to be all those modules which are behind the player's login screen.
Q. I have an office in Malta. Can I connect to you directly?
A. Yes. We offer various ADSL and HDSL connections. We also offer ISDN but it is not recommended over international links.
Q. Do you sell or lease servers and other equipment?
A. Bell Med is an authorised distributor of HP and Dell products in Malta. We also keep a small stock of various Cisco and Sun equipment.
Q. Do you sell or lease firewalls?
A. Yes, we sell and lease firewalls. It is part of the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority mandatory regulations that every client has a separate firewall of their own.
Q. Do you provide payment gateway solutions?
A. Yes, we can provide payment gateway solutions for every client’s needs with major European banks.
Q. Is bandwidth redundant and what capacity is maximum that you can offer?
A. Bandwidth is available in full redundancy. We have two independent bandwidth carriers in Malta – Datastream and Vodafone. The max capacity currently is 310MBS.
